What is light?

In its environment, people find their way mainly by sight – the eye is in this case our most important sensory organ. Without light – whether created naturally or artificially – any orientation would be completely impossible.
The phenomenon of “light" has therefore been a fascinating and inexhaustible subject since time immemorial. Light is so much more for us – a symbol of life, force and awareness.

It is difficult to define this physical phenomenon in material terms.
In brief however, light is the following:
Light consists of electromagnetic waves, whose frequencies lie in the visible range.
Other frequencies have no colour.

In general, we find it difficult to satisfy ourselves with this prosaic description.
